Transportation department sign
An original sign from Chartoff-Winkler Productions, the production company founded by Robert Chartoff and Irwin Winkler in the late 1960s which went on to produce such classics as the Rocky film series for which they won the Academy Award for Best Picture, numerous other very notable productions include Raging Bull, Point Break and The Right Stuff.
This double sided sign dates to the 1970s and was likely used on a number of films before the production company dissolved in 1985, constructed from wood the sign is stencil painted with the duos names and 'TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT' below, this would have been used as either an office door sign or possibly as a parking pass for vehicles during shoots.
The sign measures 12" x 4" and remains in very good vintage condition with minor edge wear and the remains of sticky pads to one side.
An interesting and likely unique relic from this Academy Award winning production company who were responsible for bringing Rocky to the big screen.
