Thomas and Friends

An original miniature used in the production of the long running children's television show Thomas the Tank Engine which later became Thomas & Friends.

Large scale miniatures such as this can be seen used in close-up shots throughout the series. Expertly constructed from resin this impressive railway workman miniature is finely detailed and features a hand painted costume with poseable arms attached via a ball and socket system, the separate head would be stuck in place using blacktak for filming making the parts of the figures interchangeable, both head and body retaining black residue from use on screen, the left foot features the number 34 to the sole indicating this is an early body, it features on the series eight reference sheets and was later refurbished by the production, likely around series 10, to its current finish while the head can be seen featured on the series nine reference sheets.

The miniature stands an impressive 12" high and remains in excellent screen used condition with minimal paint wear, extremely fine.
