Thomas and Friends

An original face appliance used in the production of the long running children's television show Thomas the Tank Engine which later became Thomas & Friends.

This is one of the original face appliances for Edward the blue tender engine. Constructed from high quality resin the face features a sad expression with a grey finish and hand painted eyebrows, it is hand inscribed to the rear with his name and 'SAD 1', remnants of blacktack remain present from attaching it to the engine model, accompanied by its original production bag which is inscribed 'EDWARD 6' in marker pen.

This is an original face dating back to the first series in 1984 and is constructed with a grey resin compound, this would have undergone refurbishment throughout the various series and been used throughout being one of the principal appliances, the paint finish he sports today can be conclusively screen matched to both series nine and ten. This represents the only original first series Edward face appliance ever handled by The Prop Gallery.

The face appliance measures approximately 2" in diameter and remains in near perfect original condition, extremely fine.
