Description

An original face appliance used in the production of the long running children's television show Thomas the Tank Engine which later became Thomas & Friends.

This is one of the original face appliances for Diesel, the first engine of his kind on Sodor. Constructed from high quality resin the face features a grey finish with hand painted eyebrows, it is hand inscribed to the rear 'DIESEL 3' and accompanied by its original production bag which is similarly inscribed in marker pen although partly worn. Interestingly both the rear of the face and the accompanying bag feature remnants of black paint indicating its use at a point where the Diesel miniature had been either repainted or touched up. This specific face appliance can be conclusively screen matched to the one used in the series eleven episode Don't Be Silly, Billy.

The face appliance measures approximately 2.25" x 2" and remains in near perfect original condition, extremely fine.

A highly displayable artefact from this popular children's television series.
