Professionals (The) (TV)

An original clapperboard used in the production of The Professionals, the British crime drama series created by Brian Clemens.

This production used traditional style black wooden clapperboard with hinged clap stick bears the series title 'PROFESSIONALS' on hand inscribed tape in addition to the names of director Dennis Abey and director of photographer Frank Watts as cameraman. The main unit clapperboard features spaces where the slate and take number could be recorded and retains these marking from the production, an applied tape to the bottom retains the date from its last use during filming. Last used during series 5 the board is inscribed for use in the episode Spy Probe with many of the applied tapes being of multiple layers indicating repeat use throughout filming, various tapes remain to the verso which have been retained for later use.

The clapperboard measures approximately 15" x 14" and remains in very good vintage production used condition with signs of wear from obvious heavy use during filming.

A rare and highly displayable example of the iconic clapperboard from this classic series.
