Brian Johnson personal Snowspeeder concept
An original concept design used in the production of the 1980 science fiction picture The Empire Strikes Back, the second instalment of the classic Star Wars franchise directed by Irvin Kershner.
This is a production made copy of the original concept artwork for the Rebel Snowspeeder as used in the iconic Battle of Hoth. The concept was created by visual effects art director Joe Johnston, a prolific designer of many elements within the Star Wars universe and shows a side elevation of the craft with notes below, it is dated 5.13.78, very early in the production. This copy was issued to Brian Johnson, part of the team which went on to win a Special Achievement Academy Award for the visual effects on this picture and was an advance copy was issued to Brian until production coordinator Miki Herman could forward copies in plastic sleeves to add to his bible. Obtained by The Prop Gallery directly from the collection of Brian Johnson.
The concept measures approximately 13" x 8.5" and remains in excellent condition having been carefully stored since production, very fine.
A fine production artefact from one of the most influential and highly regarded franchises in cinematic history.
