Gladiator

An original prop used in the production of Gladiator, the 2000 historical epic starring Russell Crowe under the direction of Ridley Scott.

This spear tip was custom made by the production for use during the memorable Battle of Carthage sequence and is expertly designed to safely simulate a spear going through the body. Constructed from resin the spear tip threads on to a metal plate with this rig then fastened around the body via the adjustable straps and concealed by clothing with the spear protruding, there are two threads on the plate allowing the tip to point straight or at an angle.

The spear tip measure an impressive 11" long with this and the rig remaining in excellent production used condition, only minor wear to the plate is present, overall very fine.

An excellent example of special effects prop building from this multi Academy Award winning masterpiece and modern day classic.
