Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons

Puppet hands

Description

An original pair of puppet hands used in the production of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, the 1967 Supermarionation television series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson.

Puppet hands such of these were created for the production of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons with the introduction of the more realistic looking non caricatured marionettes. Moulded from a skin tone vinyl material the hands feature an internal metal armature allowing the movement and positioning of the fingers with a largely concealed threaded rod which could be screwed in the puppet body making the hands easily removable and interchangeable, they also feature creases and finger nails in order to create a realistic and lifelike appearance. Hands such as these were also used in the subsequent Anderson puppet productions Joe 90 and The Secret Service.

The hands measure approximately 3.5" long with only minor age related splitting, overall very fine.

A fine example of original puppet hands from this highly regarded Anderson production.
