Description

An original script used in the production of The Man From U.N.C.L.E, the classic 1960s American television series starring Robert Vaughn and David McCallum.

This script was used in production of the season three episode The Galatea Affair originally broadcast in September 1966. Written by veteran television scriptwriter Jackson Gillis the script consists of 67 pages with front and back covers of dark yellow card bound by brass pins with spine insert type written '"The Galatea Affair" - Prod. 8424'. The cover of the script bears the details of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and production staff  with the script tile and production number to the centre, it is dated June 9, 1966. The cover is inscribed in pencil to a production member which is illegible, possibly Lou, and further production annotations relating to filming again hand inscribed in pencil.

The interior of the script bears an original production memo detailing some changes dated 13 June 1966 which is consistent with a number of blue revision sheets which bear this and the following date, the main body of the script is dated with a combination of 2, 6 and 9 June respectively, largely the latter. The script is heavily annotated with numerous scenes and requirements underline or circled in pencil, although we are uncertain as the ownership of the script the annotations would suggest a member of the camera department as various underlining is present relating to close or long shots.

The script remains in exceptional condition throughout having been carefully stored since its use on production, very very fine.

An excellent example of a script which clearly saw heavy use during the production of this classic American series.
