Cocoon

An original Polaroid used in the production of Cocoon, the 1985 science fiction picture directed by Ron Howard.

This Polaroid photograph was taken for reference during the production of the Academy Award winning visual effects at leading effects house Industrial Light and Magic. The shot shows the Manta III filming miniature built primarily by Ira Keeler complete with puppets which were animated by Ken Ralston. The photograph features hand inscribed annotations to the bottom regarding the shot.

The Polaroid measures approximately 5" x 4" and remains in excellent production used condition with some minor surface wear.

A unique and affordable artefact from this well received picture.
