Poltergeist

An original storyboard used in the production of Poltergeist, the 1982 supernatural horror produced by Steven Spielberg.

This storyboard was utilised at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) during the production of the films visual effects work. The storyboard is dated 8-6-81 and is printed on blue paper with an illustration showing Steven Freeling (Craig T. Nelson) pulling on a rope during the sequence where Diane (JoBeth Williams) passes through the portal with a description of the action taking place below and various visual effects elements noted. This is accompanied by a VistaVision frame of the shot mounted in a card surround stamp dated September 1981 featuring a printed Lucasfilm copyright and hand inscribed shot numbers and a further unmounted workprint clip from the same sequence, these utilised during the composition of the Academy Award nominated visual effects.

The storyboard remains in excellent production used condition and is hole punched for binder use, the VistaVison frames very good with some wear and colour shift due to age.
