Gladiator

An original prop used in the production of Gladiator, the 2000 historical epic starring Russell Crowe under the direction of Ridley Scott.

This is an original pilum spear as used by the Praetorian Guard, the elite of the Roman army under Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix). The pilum is constructed from carved wood with a spearhead of hard rubber and splits in to three pieces to aid transportation.

The weapon measures an impressive 88" long and remains in excellent screen used condition, very fine.

A nice artefact from this multi Academy Award winning masterpiece and modern day classic.
