An original crew gift from the production of Ferry to Hong Kong, the 1959 drama picture directed by Lewis Gilbert.

This vintage musical cigarette box in the design of the Yomeimon Gate in Japan was gifted to a crew member on the production by noted American actor and director Orson Welles who portrayed Captain Cecil Hart. Obtained by Welles on location filming and likely one of several distributed to various crew members the musical cigarette box is of 1950s Japanese origin and is constructed from cast metal atop a wooden base with a key to the base to wind the mechanism which activates when the top is opened.

The box stands approximately 7" high with the base measuring 5.5" x 5", it remains in excellent vintage working condition.

An interesting artefact gifted by one of the most celebrated individuals in cinema.
