Meyer Lansky (Ben Kingsley) suit
An original costume worn in the production of the 1991 American crime film Bugsy starring Warren Beatty in the title role.
This suit was worn during production by Ben Kingsley is his role as legendary American crime figure Meyer Lansky. Bespoke made for Kingsley by Western Costume this grey woolen two piece suit, with the jacket labelled to the interior inside pocket on period Western label type written with the production number '22872-1' and 'BEN KINGSLEY' with further measurements for chest and sleeve, bearing similar label to the trousers, is further signed to the interior lining in black pen by Kingsley and inscribed 'BUGSY 1992', Kingsley retained this suit after filming and donated it to an NSPCC charity auction circa the period.
The suit remains in generally excellent production used condition with some old moth damage to the trouser crotch and rear of the jacket, otherwise very fine.
A significant Kingsley garment from a memorable role for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
