Doctor Who

An original prop used in the production of the long running BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who.

From the 1983 serial Snakedance starring Peter Davison as The Doctor this is the original Mara snake effigy used in the ceremonial sequence. Constructed from material covered industrial grade ducting with a hand painted geometric pattern in pink and yellow the effigy features a large head cast in fibreglass with a protruding tongue of felt, this unique prop can be screen matched throughout.

The effigy measures approximately 8" in diameter and 16' in length, it remains in very good condition with the poles used to hold it on screen having been removed after production, some minor wear is present to the material and paint finish, otherwise fine.

A unique and highly displayable artefact from this classic science fiction series.
