General Wellington helmet paint tests
A pair of original props from the production of Corpse Bride, the 2005 stop-motion animation fantasy picture directed by Tim Burton.
These puppet scale helmets were custom made for the production by master puppet makers Mackinnon & Saunders and served as tests for the paint work on the helmet worn by General Wellington. Moulded in resin the two helmets each feature a pattern to the front with a distinctive spike to the top in the style of a pickelhaube, each helmet is finished in a differing shade of weathered bronze effect paint as they finalised the correct colour to be used on screen.
The helmets a re mounted on a display stand of black MDF and each measure approximately 4" high, they remain in excellent production used condition, extremely fine.
A fine display from this well received stop-motion animation favourite.
