Sold

Description

An original prototype hand created during the production of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, the third instalment in the popular slasher franchise starring Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger.

This hand is the prototype for Freddy Krueger's hypodermic needle hand used in Dream Warriors, it was built by makeup effects artist Brian Penikas at Kevin Yagher's studio during the production of the movie and served as test of how the hero hand seen in close ups on screen would be made. The hand is constructed from painted and textured fibreglass to resemble Krueger's hand and features plastic syringes which have been bonded in to replace the finger tips, the hand is hollow with space to access the interior which would allow the integration of pipes which could be used to pump liquid to the syringes.

The hand measures approximately 14.5" at its longest point and remains in excellent production used condition with some minor paint wear. The base has been signed by its creator Brian Penikas in black marker pen and is also accompanied by a signed letter from him concerning the provenance.

An instantly recognisable and displayable artefact used in the production of this highly regarded horror franchise.
