Description

An original studio pass from the production of Mother Carey's Chickens, the 1938 drama picture directed by Rowland V. Lee.

This studio pass was issued to Donnie Dunagan who portrayed Peter Carey, the child actor who went on to portray Peter von Frankenstein in Son of Frankenstien (1939) under the same direction. The pass is printed on orange card which is headed 'RKO RADIO PICTURES' with the address of their Gower Street Hollywood studios below and is type written with Dunagan's name and the title of the production, it is stamped with the date 'APR 27 1938', the day before principal photography commenced, and is hand signed by a studio representative, the name appearing to be Nate Levinson or similar. To the verso the card features instructions and states that it must be returned upon the termination of employment.

The pass measures 3.5" x 2.25" and remains in excellent vintage condition exhibiting minimal edge wear and the remains of paper to the verso where it was glued in Dunagan's scrapbook, generally fine.

An extremely rare RKO studio artefact, one of the major studios from the Golden Age of Hollywood.
