Doctor Zhivago

An original title card from the production of Doctor Zhivago, the 1965 historical romantic epic directed by David Lean.

This concept was custom made during the production as an idea for the title card which ultimately went unused in the final cut. The concept features a photograph taken by the production during location filming at the Aldeadávila Dam in Spain, on top of this is a plastic sheet which has been hand painted with the title of the movie and credit to author Boris Pasternak, this then mounted in a surround of black card which features various hand inscribed annotations in white chalk.

The concept measures approximately 13" x 7.5" and remains in excellent vintage condition, overall fine.

An exceptionally rare example of original production material from this highly regarded Academy Award winning epic.
