Dennis Spooner personal script - The Daleks' Master Plan

Sold

Description

An original script used in the production of the long running BBC television series Doctor Who.

From the classic 1965 serial The Daleks' Masterplan starring William Hartnell as The Doctor this was the personal script of writer Dennis Spooner. Spooner penned 5 of the 12 episodes for this classic story and this script for Episode 12: "Destruction of Time" originated from his collection before his death in 1986.

This original camera script comprises of front cover detailing the production crew and rehearsal scedule at BBC Television Centre Studio 3 followed by two running order pages detailing production requirements and then a cast list. These are followed by a complete 41 page dialogue script for the final episode which include various boom and camera details with the final pages bearing the credit slide details.

Type written on cream foolscap sized paper measuring approximately 13" x 8", this was the standard imperial paper size before A4 as we know it today. The script remains in incredible condition having been carefully stored and preserved for the last 48 years with just the front and back pages having become detached from the original binding pin, very fine throughout.

The rarity of original material from the William Hartnell era cannot be overstated and this represents an incredibly rare artefact from the birth of this classic series now celebrating its 50th anniversary.
