An original prop used in the production of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the 1989 television serial produced by the BBC.

This incredible miniature Dawn Treader was scratch built by BBC Visual Effects assistant George Reed under designer Tony Harding and filmed on the BBC visual effects stage using a dry-for-wet technique. Constructed at approximately 1:12 scale the miniature is fabricated largely from wood and features a dragon head of fibreglass and wings of foam to the bow with a tail to the stern, the multi level deck includes a lifeboat to the centre with various ladders and two large masts which support sails of painted material one featuring a lions head emblem, string has been utilised for the various rigging.

The miniature measures an impressive 80" long and stands approximately 72" to the top of the mast, it remains in excellent screen used condition lacking some minor detail and exhibiting general wear but mostly fine.

An extremely rare and incredibly significant artefact from this cult BBC production and a fine example of model making at the very highest level.
