Arthur

An original prop used in the production of Arthur, the 1981 comedy starring Dudley Moore in the title role.

This licence plate was custom made by the production and used on Arthur Bach's (Dudley Moore) Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith. Constructed from thick hardboard the licence plate is hand painted in yellow with blue lettering and features the designation 'ARTHUR' with 'NEW YORK' below. A chip to the paint work on the left side of the plate means this can be easily matched to the one used on the front of the car in the famous publicity shot featuring the car and Dudley Moore.

The licence plate measures approximately 12" x 6" and remains in excellent screen used condition exhibiting minor surface wear and paint loss, generally very fine.

A rare and highly displayable artefact from this well received Academy Award winning picture which requires no introduction.
