Gladiator

An original standard used in the production of Ridley Scott's Academy Award winning epic Gladiator.

A lion standard similar to this can clearly seen in the battle sequences early in the film, constructed from fiberglass resin with a faux metalised gold finish. The detailed sculpt features a lion standing on top of an ornate plinth with a housing point below where it was fixed to the staff, the interior shows evidence of body filler where this was affixed to a staff however it lacks the dirtied down finish of the one seen front of screen.

Measuring approximately 16" long and standing 15" high it makes an impressive display piece from a true modern day classic. The standard bears numerous chips from its time on set as is to be expected but remains in good condition overall.
