An original clapperboard used in the production of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first instalment in the popular Indy franchise.

This production used traditional style black wooden clapperboard with hinged clap stick bears the movie title 'RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK' in white paint with space for slate and take details to be marked in chalk. The clapperboard bears white fabric tape to the bottom which is hand inscribed with the date from its last use on production, '3.10.80', this tape is overlaid on top of the previous days date and others, with additional tape inscribed 'DAY:EXT'. The date on this board was the final day of principal photography which look place on location in Hawaii and was followed by the wrap party after which the majority of the principal crew left leaving behind a small unit. To the rear of the board is a further tape hand inscribed '2ND CAMERA' which has been retained in case of need for further use.

The board measures approximately 8" x 6.25" and remains in generally good condition with some wear from production use including some paint loss to the metal hinge and wear to the board from being inscribed repeatedly with chalk.
