Luftwaffe summer flying helmet
An original flying helmet used in the production of Battle of Britain, the classic 1969 war film directed by Guy Hamilton and Harry Saltzman.
This is an original summer flying helmet as seen worn by the Luftwaffe pilots throughout the movie. The custom made flying helmet is constructed from green material and features large leather covered ear cups to either side with leather straps and buckles, to the interior the helmet is hand inscribed 'M', likely sizing information, and being a prop there is no facility for wiring which was not required for filming.
The flying helmet remains in excellent production used and vintage condition exhibiting only minor soiling, overall fine.
An exceptionally rare example of original wardrobe from the production of this quintessential British war picture.
