An original miniature used in the production of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the 1984 adventure picture and second instalment in the popular Indy franchise.

For the exciting sequence of the mine flooding and Indy's escape premier effects house Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) combined the use of model miniatures, stop motion animation and live action close ups to achieve the final footage. For filming a number of mine carts and tracks were built along with a various miniatures used to dress the model set, this pickaxe is one such miniature, constructed from wood and metal the handle and eye feature some minor glue residue possibly where it was fixed on the model set during production.

The miniature measures approximately 2.75" in length and remains in excellent production used condition with some minor paint loss.

A fine example of an Industrial Light and Magic built miniature from one of the most highly regarded franchises in cinematic history.
