Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

An original prop created for the production of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, the 1992 comedy sequel starring Macaulay Culkin.

This prop New York Newspaper cover was custom made by the production and features imagery of Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv's (Daniel Stern) police mugshots. In the movie a different paper is used to set the scene that the duo have escaped while the family are still in Chicago however this design of newspaper did inspire the one held by Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) on the famous poster which was partially computer generated and used extensively during promotion becoming arguably the most famous image associated with the movie. The prop newspaper cover features the mugshots of the two characters with the headline 'WET BANDITS ESCAPE!' and unrelated text below and to the back page, this being altered on the poster to include an image of the Statue of Liberty in aftershave pose in a nod to the first movie, this too obvious to include on a prop intended to be used on screen.

The newspaper cover measures approximately 23" x 14" and remains in excellent folded condition with minor toning and light wear to the crease, generally very fine.

An extremely rare and instantly recognisable artefact from this hugely popular film series.
