Christine

Christine fuel door

Sold

Description

An original prop used in the production of Christine, the 1983 cult horror picture directed by John Carpenter based on the novel by Stephen King.

This is the original fuel door used on the special effects car built specifically for the famous transformation scene where Christine restores herself to showroom quality in front of Arnie Cunningham (Keith Gordon). This shot was achieved practically with a special car which was rigged by effects veteran Roy Arbogast using hydraulics to pull it in and crush it, this footage was then reversed to show Christine fixing herself.

The fuel door is moulded in solid rubber and features Christine's signature red paint scheme, evidence of this being attached to the special effects car is present to the verso. The prop measures approximately 7.5" x 6" at its widest points and remains in excellent production used condition exhibiting only minor surface wear, overall fine.

An extremely rare and unique artefact from this cult classic.
