Blues Brothers (The)

An original prop used in the production of The Blues Brothers, the 1980 comedy staring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd under the direction of John Landis.

Licence plates such as this can be seen on the police cars which pursue the brothers through Dixie Square Mall and again later at the end of the movie. Constructed from metal the plate is stencil painted 'LAND OF LINCOLN' and 'JUN ILLINOIS 79' with the registration number 'U 7942' applied in hand cut cardboard painted black and four holes used to attach it to the vehicle.

The licence plate measures 12" x 6" and remains in good vintage condition with some bending, paint loss and wear to the applied lettering with rusting to the verso.

An extremely rare and displayable artefact from the production of this cult classic.
