Bishop (Lance Henriksen) Seiko wristwatch

Sold

Description

An original wristwatch used in the production of Aliens, the second instalment in the popular Alien franchise directed by James Cameron.

This is an original wristwatch worn by Lance Henriksen as Bishop throughout the movie, supplied to the production by Seiko the 7A28 6000 chronograph designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro went on to become a famous watch due to its use in the film with Seiko even going so far as to reissue the watch many years later. Interestingly this watch supplied to the production is a non working sample with the hands in the ten past ten position which cannot be moved, the manner in which all watches are photographed for marketing and the final still presented here shows Henriksen wearing a watch bearing this time. The strap of the watch features some red painted highlights to the bracelet added by the production with white residue to the underside of this and clasp indicating that this watch was used in the climactic sequences of the movie.

The watch remains in excellent cosmetic condition with some paint loss to the aforementioned highlights, the rear of the case stamped 'SAMPLE', a feature not found on commercially sold examples. This represents an incredibly rare example of this watch which would have been supplied to the production in very limited numbers, a fine piece actually used in the very film that made this model famous.

A notable and highly displayable principal character artefact from this classic science fiction franchise.
