Robot Jox

Alexander robot miniature

Description

An original Alexander robot used in the production of the 1990 post apocalyptic science fiction movie Robot Jox.

This is the original large scale Alexander robot puppet which is blown up in the films thrilling climax. Clearly seen in action in the movie it is constructed from fibreglass, wood and high density foam and is detailed to a incredibly high standard as you would expect of a close up prop. The torso section of the robot retains its small scale Alexander pilot to the perspex cockpit which is a converted action figure and original fibreglass emblem. The inner wooden construction of the arms is on threaded bolts which allow each section of the arm to be moved and posed with the shoulder socket able to move in two directions. Being of wood and fibreglass construction this is an incredibly substantial and heavyweight piece.

Alexander measures approximately 29" wide across the shoulders with the main torso section 16" and a shoulder to hand length of approximately 29". The robot remains in screen used condition with many of the pieces separated and showing signs of damage and scorching which is hardly surprising given its use during the production, the robot remains incomplete as not all of the pieces were salvaged after filming but what is offered here represents a significant portion of this stunning prop.

An incredible hero artefact from this cult science fiction classic.
