29th Infantry Division helmet
An original helmet used in the production of Saving Private Ryan, the 1998 war epic directed by Steven Spielberg.
Helmets such as these can be seen worn by the 29th Infantry Division, the M1 helmet is constructed from steel and features the blue and grey insignia to the front with chinstrap loops to the sides, owing to the lack of a liner this helmet was likely used to dress the devastated Omaha Beach in the opening sequences of the movie.
The helmet measures approximately 11" x 9" x 7" and remains in good production used condition with surface wear and minor corrosion present.
A displayable artefact from this highly regarded modern day classic which was the recipient of five Academy Awards.
